This introductory class at the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center will teach your little one the fundamental gymnastic skills, in a safe and caring environment. Your child will learn basic skills such as coordination, balance, jumping, strength, and discipline. This is a great opportunity for you and your child to socialize in an active and fun setting. Sessions run monthly.

Holiday Camp is all the fun of our Summer Day Camp, but without the heat. Holiday Camp, which takes place during holiday break, is a place for kids (Grades K-8) to enjoy sports, crafts, swimming and more with our camp counselors.
Please sign up no later than one week prior to the start of camp so we can optimize your child’s experience.

Private lessons are tailored to your style and interests. Maybe you want to hone a strength of your game, work on a weakness, or learn a new technique? Or perhaps you’re new to tennis and want to learn the basics. Either way, teaching pro Joshua Parmenter will help you work toward your goals in a low-stress, individualized 50-minute session. Come meet Rob Sulkowski, the Ste. Genevieve County Conservation Agent, and learn about snakes! Rob will bring different species of snakes and let the kids feel their scales. He will discuss the difference between the snakes, as well as the difference between venomous and non venomous snakes. The kids will leave with both new knowledge and respect for snakes!

A traditional archery class designed for kids ages 7-12 taught by Jim Pyles. Jim has years of teaching experience and is owner of JP Enterprises Traditional Archery. This is a great class for kids who might be future bow hunters. Participants will need to have an arm guard & glove (may be purchased on the first day of class).

School’s out for the day & you have nothing to do? Hang out at the Community Center for a day of games, crafts, swimming and much more. The program gives parents a chance to give their children supervised activities throughout their day rather than lounging around. Kids need to bring a sack lunch, bathing suit and a towel, and they’re ready for hours of excitement with our camp counselors. This six week beginning soccer program is designed for children ages 4-5. It teaches the basic soccer skills as dribbling, kicking, positions, & basic rules. There will be two weeks of practice followed by four weeks of games. Shin guards & tennis shoes required. A T-shirt will be provided to all participants. Registration ends March 2. Games will be played on Challenger Field.

The basics of hitting a ball from a baseball tee, catching, throwing, and running bases in a non-competitive instructional league. All practices and games are approximately 45-60 minutes long. Two weeks of practice followed by four weeks of games. Games will be played on Challenger Field.

Start Smart Baseball is a developmentally appropriate introductory baseball program for children 4-5 years old. The program prepares children for organized tee ball, baseball and softball in a fun, non-threatening environment. Each participant will receive a bat, 2 balls, and a glove. Parent(s) must participate in program. Registration ends February 23. Limit of 8 children.
